Every young person deserves the chance to shine.
We help unlock confidence, connection, and potential.

A Very Warm Welcome to The Keystone Centre
The Keystone Centre is a calm, supportive, and specialist intervention setting for young people aged 7 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, including those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We offer a bespoke, therapeutic approach for those who find the pace and pressure of larger settings overwhelming. Our experienced team works closely with each learner, providing tailored support for a range of neurodiverse and developmental needs — including SEMH, ASD, and cognitive or learning challenges.
At Keystone, we create a nurturing environment where every young person can feel safe, build confidence, and unlock their full potential at a pace that works for them.

Our Ethos: Creating Self-Worth, Opportunities & Compassion
At The Keystone Centre, we believe that meaningful relationships are the foundation for achieving outstanding outcomes. We are passionate advocates for the young people we support, and our ethos — Creating Self-Worth, Opportunities, and Compassion — guides every aspect of our work.
Through a highly individualised, holistic approach to teaching and curriculum design, we nurture each student’s strengths while addressing their unique needs. Our therapeutic and relational model helps young people build trust, confidence, and resilience in a calm and supportive environment.
This personalised approach not only boosts self-belief and academic progress but also equips students with vital communication and social skills — preparing them for positive futures in whichever path they choose. Rooted in a belief that learning should be engaging, purposeful, and inspiring, we aim to foster a lifelong love of learning.
Our ethos extends beyond our learners — it shapes how we support families, empower our staff, and contribute to our local and wider community.
Who We Support
We provide a specialist, therapeutic learning environment for children and young people aged 7 to 16 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and SEMH.
Our Pupils Typically Have Needs Including:
- Autism Spectrum / ASD Pathway
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
We specialise in supporting pupils with Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and anxiety-related barriers to learning. The Keystone Centre is not a behavioural school — our approach is relational, therapeutic, and built on understanding rather than control.
We also support:
- Looked After Children (LAC)
- LGBTQ+ learners, including those navigating identity, gender, or social challenges
- School refusers and anxious learners who thrive in smaller, personalised settings
